Tools and Hardware Reviews of the DEWALT DC011 Combination Work Site Radio and 7.2-Volt to 18-Volt Pod-Style Battery ChargerTool Review: garbage Summary: 1 Stars
I have owned 2 of these units, the first unit bit the dust as i was curious to find out if it could withstand a full toss against my garage brick wall from aprrox 20 ft, as it certainly was not a radio by any definition other than name. needless to say it didnt survive the full toss but it did give me a great deal of pleasure. this unit was without a doubt a total peice of crap suitable for the trash can only and thats where it ended up. being the total fool that i am i thought that this was a one off and brought a second unit, a later model.
reception is lousy, drifts in and out of tune. when you charge a battery you cannot listen to the radio as the reception is distorted, i am surely tempeted to see if it can withstand my destruction test but it grieves me to sling a £130 tool against the wool AGAIN.
if it wasnt for the fact that all my other tools are dewalt i would have defected to makita or bosch.
regards bob
